Dennis Lee Dixon
Dennis Lee Dixon, 85, of rural Adel died Dec. 14. 2021. He graduated from Gowrie High School in 1954 prior to attending Iowa State University in Ames, where he earned a degree in journalism in 1958. He was recognized as Photographer of the Year for his work for the Iowa State University newspaper.
He served two years with U.S. Army forces based in Germany then joined Hy-Line International, for which he had opportunities to live and work in Argentina and Brazil, where he became proficient in both Spanish and Portuguese. Moving back to the USA prior to 1969, he held regional and international sales director roles based in Hy-Line’s corporate headquarters while living in rural homes in Waukee and Adel.
Retiring in 2000, Dennis dabbled in international business consulting for some local companies and travelled the states with his wife, Darlene.
His wife of 58 years, Darlene (Lipke), survives.
