Lloyd Wenger, 86, was promoted to Glory on October 29, 2014. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, November 1, at Grace Brethren Church in Dallas Center, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Cremation will follow services and private burial of the cremated remains will be held at Brethren Cemetery at a later date.

Lloyd was born May 28, 1928, in rural Dallas County to John Lloyd and Leah (Hawbaker) Wenger. He graduated from Minburn High School in 1945 and farmed with his father. Lloyd married Barbara Husted on December 1, 1950. On April 10, 1951, he entered the US Army serving in Maryland and Virginia during the Korean Conflict. Lloyd returned to farming in 1953 in Dallas County until his retirement in 1990 when he and Barb went to Central African Republic to serve as missionary support staff for GBIM. They returned home in 1993 and resumed farming until 2008.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Barbara, his children, Nadine (Byron) Leas of Chesapeake Beach, MD, Robert (Peg) Wenger of Westcliffe, CO and Michael (Lori) Wenger of Adel; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; his brother, Kerman (Leona) Wenger of St. Ansgar, and his sister Dolores Bentall of Waukee. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Florence Fitz and his granddaughter, Audrey Wenger.
