The Waukee Chamber’s Networking Luncheon is a great way to develop business relationships over lunch. Members are invited to join us on the third Thursday each month at the Waukee Community Center.
Actis Wealth Management sponsored the Sept. 18 luncheon. Members enjoyed catering by Hotel Pattee including pulled pork sandwiches, pasta salads, iced tea and Actis Wealth Management provided a presentation on custom tailoring financial strategies to meet their client’s business and family needs and goals. The Clive Chamber of Commerce hosted the September Regional Business After Hours along with their partners Country Inn and Suites and Big Green Umbrella Media. They provided a fun tailgate themed event with amazing door prizes. Several Waukee Chamber members were present along with other affiliate Chambers of Commerce members of the Greater Des Moines Partnership.
Waukee Chamber members spoke with School-to-Work student interns at Waukee High School on Tuesday, Sept. 23. Mindi Heitland and Scott Carlson lead the School-to-Work program at the high school, which provides internship experience to seniors at local businesses.
Hawkeye Antique Acres hosted the Thursday, Sept. 25 Business After Hours with the Waukee Chamber. Homemade ice cream was served fresh using a modified PTO driven 20-quart ice cream maker. Members of the Chamber enjoyed a sweet ice cream treat while developing business relationships. Hawkeye Antique Acres is located at 33240 Ute Ave. in Waukee.
Rita’s celebrated its grand opening on Friday, Sept. 26 with free Italian ice all day. The Waukee Area Chamber of Commerce joined together for a ribbon cutting ceremony to help welcome Rita’s to the Chamber. Rita’s also presented a check to the Waukee Athletic Boosters Club for $500. Rita’s is located at 9250 University Ave. in Suite 109.
The Waukee Area Chamber of Commerce helped congratulate Saints Pub & Patio on its Sept. 30 ribbon cutting ceremony. Saints is located at 87 N.E. Carefree Lane in Waukee.
Waukee Area Chamber of Commerce Board members and Ambassadors participated in “Waukee Homecoming Spirit Business Visits” on Thursday, Oct. 2 to connect with our member businesses and encourage involvement in Waukee homecoming activities. The Waukee High School homecoming game took place on Oct. 3.
