Hello, reader

Posted October 15, 2014 in Community Featured, Downtown

The Des Moines Public Library has incorporated NoveList into our catalog, creating richer catalog records for nearly every item in our system.

That means when you search for an item, you’ll see a series of book covers as you scroll down the page. First, if the book you’re viewing is in a series, NoveList quickly tells you what other books are within the series. Handy! But best of all — and this is where NoveList really shines — the record shows reading recommendations based on the specific item you’re viewing. You’ll see a collection of book covers with brief synopses, and when you hover over “Why?” NoveList details why it has included the book recommendation with the selection you’re viewing. NoveList is a great tool to introduce you to new possibilities — other books and authors similar to those you read and love. Visit www.dmpl.org and look up some books to see how dynamic NoveList is in action.
