DES MOINES, IA – 10/21/14 – On October 21st Iowa Youth Chorus is hosting a Pancake Supper featuring the Des Moines metro choirs. The event will be held from 5 pm to 8 pm at Waveland Hall in Plymouth Congregational Church, 42nd and Ingersoll Streets in Des Moines. The event will support both the general fund of the organization, as well as go towards lowering the cost of upcoming tours for all participants.
The entertaining Chris Cakes will provide all-you-can-eat pancakes and sausages. There will also be baked goods available for sale as well as IYC merchandise. Iowa Youth Chorus ensembles will provide entertainment throughout the evening according to the following schedule: Primary Choir and Children’s Chorus at 5:45 p.m., Concert Choir at 6:30 p.m., and Chamber Singers at 7:15 p.m.
Dinner prices are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under, payable at the door.
The nonprofit Iowa Youth Chorus was founded in 1981 to encourage and foster a life-long love of music in children. Through classes for all ages, from early childhood through high school, the Chorus inspires personal development, celebrates diversity and fosters international goodwill. As the premier youth choral organization of central Iowa, young singers come from every suburb and surrounding communities including Ankeny, Des Moines, West Des Moines, Windsor Heights, Newton and Pella.
