Showcasing Waukee

The Waukee Economic Development Bus Tour was held on Thursday, Sept. 11. The Waukee Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed more than 100 guests for the second annual event.

The city of Waukee guided the hour-long tour showcasing business, school and residential development projects in Waukee. Hosting sponsor Access Systems provided a Business After Hours following the tour. Thank you to our sponsors including the city of Waukee, Economic Development partners, Access Systems, Downing Development, Re/Max Real Estate Concepts and West Bank.

Waukee Chamber Board Leadership and past presidents competed in both the male and female relay competitions of the Hy-Vee Triathlon on Aug. 31 at Gray’s Lake in Des Moines. Team members include the male team: Bryan Rowland (swim), Ron Stallman (bike) and Brandon Patterson (run) and the female team: Melinda Behn (swim), Erna Morain (bike) and Sara Larson (run). This is the third triathlon relay the females have completed together and the first for the male team.

Waukee Hy-Vee hosted an amazing Business After Hours at its Market Grille on Thursday, Aug. 28. Waukee Area Chamber of Commerce members enjoyed a fantastic assortment of appetizers and gourmet desserts while developing business relationships. Congratulations to Brandon Lampkin and his team at Waukee Hy-Vee on their one year anniversary week.

A New Member Welcome Breakfast was held at the Waukee Area Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, Aug. 27 to help connect new members to the Board of Directors and opportunities to get involved in the Waukee Chamber.

Thanks to the city of Waukee’s Parks and Recreation Department for organizing the 2014 Waukee Fest. Many local businesses participated in the 2014 Waukee Fest Celebration, put on by the city of Waukee’s Parks and Recreation Department. Thanks to our local business community for supporting this annual city celebration.

Congratulations to Mickey’s Irish Pub on its patio expansion. Members from the Chamber enjoyed networking, drinks and appetizers on the patio at Mickey’s Irish Pub on Wednesday, Aug. 20 with a live performance by Brad Seidenfeld.

Get involved with the Waukee Chamber to gain exposure in the marketplace and make a positive impact in our community. The Waukee Chamber hosts a networking luncheon on the third Thursday of each month and a Business After Hours on the fourth Thursday of each month.
