The board of directors for the Main Street Cultural District wants to keep you up to date on the goings on of your organization. Our investors (defined by Main Street Iowa as dues paying businesses and individuals), members (all businesses downtown), and supporters are extremely important to the health of our group, so we want you to be in the know about our current path. Our executive director Cari Hague’s final day was August 28th, 2014. The board has met to review a plan for our transition into the future of the organization. We have decided to take some time in the coming months to carefully consider and clarify our ideals for our executive director position, prior to starting our search for a candidate. We are proud of the great success this organization has accomplished in the past years and we want to continue to learn and grow in an outstanding direction.
Sadly, yesterday, the MSCD board also received a resignation letter from our events coordinator, Emily Miller, effective Thursday, September 25th, 2014. Emily will fulfill her role through Oktoberfest.
As we do not, and will not have a paid staff member in the director or events coordinator positions during this time, we are going to operate on a streamlined basis. We ask for your patience and understanding. Our volunteer board members plan to take on basic functions of the organization. The email@example.com emails will continue to be active, and three board members will be working to address inquiries. The district wide emails will continue to provide you with updates. Should you wish for face time with with the organization, please seek out a board member (listed below). We are your neighbors downtown and throughout the community.
We plan to emerge from this momentary lull in operations stronger than ever!
The Board of Directors would like to thank Cari and Emily for their time with the Main Street Cultural District. They have extreme passion for this organization and its vision, and gave us their full dedication and heart during their tenure. We have grown in a positive direction as a result of their hard work.
Thank you for your continued support of our organization.
