Welcome to the Bondurant Library

Posted March 05, 2014 in Community Blogs, Bondurant

Libraries are information centers for their communities. Communities know that when information is needed turning to their local library is what they do. Library staff have been helping their customers  with information needs since libraries were started. In this current digital world that is even more obvious. For example The Bondurant Community Library subscribes to Learning Express. This “online resource which prepares individuals to succeed in the workplace through programs which improve job skills and vocational test-taking abilities” was made possible through legislation in 2012 that provided $150,000 in funding to Iowa Library Services/State Library to pay for this great service.

LearningExpress Library is an online platform that provides over 770 of the most up-to-date test preparation and skill-building resources, helping both students and adults prepare for a wide range of academic and career oriented exams, as well as improve basic skills in reading, writing and math.

LearningExpress has unlimited access to interactive skill building courses in math, reading and writing, as well as a broad range of practice tests based on official exams such as the ACT, SAT, GED, ASVAB Core, and EMT Basic, as well as firefighter, police officer, paramedic, Allied Healthcare, U.S. citizenship, postal worker, cosmetology, and real estate agent and broker exams. The wide range of learning on this site is truly amazing. There really is something for everyone.

The best part is that it is free. Simply visit the Library’s website Click on the catalog link. Log in with your library card information and click on the LearningExpress link at the bottom of the page. The database is easy to use and can be accessed at your leisure, wherever Internet access is available.

And speaking of Internet Access: If Internet access at home is a problem, then take your problem to the Library. The Bondurant Community Library has nine Internet computer stations available for your use. In addition the Library also has 2 quiet study rooms available for use.

The Library has also increased their bandwidth this past month to 20M/5M speed to help with patrons needs. So stop in and check it out. And as always, if you have questions don’t hesitate to call the library at 515-967-4790 or send us an email at We love to hear from you.
