(February 21, 2014)—The Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL) is partnering up with Simon’s restaurant to host their first annual Spayghetti & No Balls pasta dinner. This sold out fundraising event is in honor of World Spay Day. It is focused on fundraising and spreading awareness for our spay and neuter programs.
WHERE: Simon’s Restaurant
5800 Franklin Ave
Des Moines, IA 50322
WHEN: Sunday, February 23 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
WHO: Brandi Braune, Events Coordinator, ARL
Goizane Mullin, Community Outreach Coordinator, ARL
Simon Goheen, Restaurant Owner, Simon’s
Attendees will enjoy a pasta dinner and drinks accompanied by live acoustic jazz music by Willie Shay. This event sold out quickly and the ARL is excited that the community supports our efforts behind spaying and neutering programs.
With three licensed Veterinarians on staff, ARL pets are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before adoption. Thanks to additional grant funding, the ARL also has public spay and neuter programs which offer sugeries, vaccines and microchips at no cost or low cost for individuals who could not otherwise afford those services. These surgeries are performed by ARL and partner Veterinarians, for a full list of our programs click here.
The Animal Rescue League of Iowa is a nonprofit organization founded in 1926. The ARL is the state’s largest animal shelter, serving over 16,500 animals each year from all corners of the state. The ARL is the greater Des Moines area’s only shelter that never turns away an animal in need. ARL-Iowa.org
