A video presentation from Dr. Emerson Eggerichs will be part of the “Love and Respect” seminar at Maranatha Baptist Church March 14-15.

On March 14 and 15, Maranatha Baptist Church will host “Love and Respect,” a marriage seminar for couples of any age who are interested in improving their marriage.

The seminar will counsel couples based on a biblical verse from Ephesians that says “Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence (respect) her husband.”

The seminar will include a Bible study, interactive lectures with Pastor Wayne Hart and a video presentation from Dr. Emerson Eggerichs, author of “Love & Respect: The Love She Most Desires, The Respect He Desperately Needs.”

The seminar will also provide one-on-one time with your spouse that encourages you to evaluate your current relationship and discuss the lessons you’ve learned.

The seminar promises to walk couples through three main stages of a relationship: the “crazy cycle,” the “energizing cycle” and the “rewarded cycle.” These lessons are intended to help couples deal with each other by “controlling the craziness,” energizing each other with love and respect and enjoying the rewards of a Godly marriage.

The seminar is free and open to the public, but there is a $20 fee for books associated with the lessons.

For more information about registering for the event, please call the Maranatha Baptist Church office at 515-986-9202, or via email at info@maranathabaptist.org.

St. Peter Lutheran Church will host an Ash Wednesday Service with Holy Communion and Imposition of Ashes on Wednesday, March 5, at 7 p.m. All community residents are invited to attend this worship service.

The church will host Lenten services on the next five Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. during Lent (March 12, 19, 26 and April 2 and 9). St. Peter will also put on a Lenten drama called “The Potter and Me” each week, with congregation members playing roles and participating in each showing.  All are welcome to attend these events. For more information about St. Peter’s worship services, please contact the church office at 515-986-3077.
