Free bus rides on Valentine’s for DART Date Night

People can ride the bus for free on DART Date Night this Valentine’s Day.

All local routes will be free to board the evening of Friday, February 14, starting at 5 p.m. until the buses make their final stops at DART Central Station around 11:40 p.m.

“Leave the car behind, have a good time, and leave the driving to DART,” Marketing Director Kirstin Baer-Harding said. “The bus is more than a way to work – it’s about having fun, too.”

Participants can win prizes by posting photos of their dates on DART’s Facebook page, Prizes include a $25 Raccoon River Brewing Company gift certificate and tickets to the Metro Chamber Ensemble at the Des Moines Art Center. Complete contest details are online at
