Running Low on Computer Donations

Posted February 10, 2014 in Web Exclusives

Goodwill Industries of Central Iowa is currently running low on recyclable computer and computer accessories. Goodwill partners with the Dell Reconnect program to responsibly recycle and dispose of unwanted computers and computer accessories at no-cost.

“Last year Goodwill recycled over 563,300 pounds of computers and accessories.  Through our partnership with Dell we responsibly recycle and dispose of these goods” said Marlyn McKeen, President of Goodwill.  “The goal of this program is to keep used computers out of the landfill and to educate the public on responsible computer recycling.”

Goodwill is encouraging all central Iowa residents to donate their unwanted computers at any Central Iowa Goodwill donation location, except the outlet store.  There is no charge to drop off your donations and individuals may be able to deduct the value of their computer donation.

For more information on this program visit their website  or call 515-265-5323.
