Ramona Ruth (Coil) Davis, age 90, of Coon Rapids passed away on Friday, February 7, 2014 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Annunciation Catholic Church in Coon Rapids with Fr. Andrew Hoffman as celebrant. Friends may call at the Johnson and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Coon Rapids after 4:30 P.M. on Tuesday where there will be a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. followed by a Christian Wake Service at 7:30 P.M. by Annunciation Parish. The casket will be moved to the church at 8:30 A.M. on Wednesday where visitation will resume until the time of service. Lectors for the Mass will be Paula Davis, Darla Davis, Courtney Davis and Michaela Davis. Gift bearers will be Paige and Lacie Davis. Eucharistic Ministers will be Rosemary Paulsen and Kris Gross. Mass servers will be Lexie Davis and Mitchell Klocke. Music for the Mass will be by the Annunciation Choir with Faye Seidl as organist. Erich Kretzinger and Alice Kretzinger-Feldmann will be soloists. Casket bearers will be Mona’s grandchildren. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery near Coon Rapids.

Born on October 9, 1923 at Manilla, Ia, she was the daughter of Richard and Elizabeth (Carey) Coil. She grew up in Jefferson where she attended school. She was married to Clayton Davis on June 13, 1942 at South Sioux City, Nebraska. The couple made their home in Coon Rapids where they raised their family. She worked for Garst and Thomas sorting corn and detasseling and did house cleaning for several families. She was affectionately known to most as Mona. She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church where she was a member of the ladies guild for many years. Mona loved life and enjoyed visiting with people as she rode her scooter around town. She enjoyed swimming at Coon Rapids swimming pool until she was 90 years old. She took a trip to Ireland in 2010 which she thoroughly enjoyed. Mona was Mrs. Santa Claus during the holidays as she delivered food, packages, and toys to area families. She was an avid Bingo player on Tuesdays at the American Legion and when she wasn’t able to go anymore she played scratch off Bingo. She loved and cherished her family and always knew what each of them had going on.

Ramona is survived by two daughters: Kathleen Kretzinger and her husband Andy of Coon Rapids and Diane Hardman and her husband Allan of Coon Rapids; six sons: Tom Richards of San Francisco, CA, David Davis of Coon Rapids, John Davis of Estes Park, CO, Mike Davis and his wife Paula of Coon Rapids, and twins Marty Davis and his wife Darla of Carroll and Monty Davis and his wife Sheri of Carroll; 21 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; a sister-in-law Marianne Bielmaier and her husband James of Tularosa, NM; a cousin Helen Malloy of Westside, IA; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1999, two sisters: Udean Brown and Lela Wilson, and a brother Eugene Coil.
