Gary Iverson

Gary Lee Iverson, age 73, of Boone, passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 14, at the Walter ~ Schroeder Funeral Home located at Fifth & Story Streets in Boone, with Pastor Bruce Thomas officiating.

Visitation will be held at the Walter ~ Schroeder Funeral Home from 10:00 A.M. to the time of service at 11:00 A.M. with the family present at this time to greet friends.

Following the Memorial Service, Military Honors will be conducted by the Boone Veterans Council at the Veterans Monument in the Linwood Park Cemetery of Boone.

Gary was born on November 9, 1939 at Littlefork, Minnesota, to Marvin Lee and Mary (Myer) Iverson.

Gary attended school at International Falls, Minnesota. He then entered into the U. S. Army.

He has lived in Boone since 1969, moving from International Falls, Minnesota.

Gary started to work for Hallett Materials of Boone, in 1973, and worked as a crane operator for 30 years.

He enjoyed fishing for catfish on the Des Moines River and hunting and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents; his brother in law, Gary Olson.

He is survived by his son, Tony Iverson of Troy, Ohio; his daughter and son in law, Angie and Ernie Elliott of Piqua, Ohio; his daughter and son in law, Kristy and Charlie Perkins of Piqua, Ohio; his stepdaughter, Kathy Anderson of Ames, Iowa; his 12 grandchildren; Tanner Iverson, Tyler Iverson, TeeJay Iverson, Jackie Iverson, Taylor Welch, Christopher Hampton, Angenia and Matt Cady, Kyle Perkins, Derick Anderson, Krista Anderson Houghman, Danielle Elliott, Brittany Elliott, his 6 great-grandchildren; his brother, Ronnie Iverson of International Falls, Minnesota; his sister, Jewel Olson of Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota; his aunt, Anne Myer of Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota, his uncle, Robert Myer of International Falls, Minnesota and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be directed to the family to be used at their discretion.
