After my husband Jim broke his foot playing basketball, we are very thankful for Dr. Mike Lee who was successful in screwing Jim’s broken foot back together again.
I’m thankful for a friend who delivered a full meal for our family on the night of Jim’s foot surgery.
I’m thankful for a neighbor who, after seeing Jim unsuccessfully attempt to rake mounds of leaves on crutches, volunteered to mow our backyard while I clung onto a ladder cleaning out the gutters.
I’m thankful for the complete stranger who bought my small purchase for me when I found I had left my wallet at home after my items were already rung up at the grocery store.
I’m thankful for my son being able to help return small favors to others by reuniting multiple pets with lost owners in our neighborhood over the last few months.
I’m thankful for our great businesses, schools and community leaders and members who work together each and every day to make Johnston a community that I’m proud to be a part of.
Please join me in taking a few moments from your busy schedules to reflect on how you are thankful to be in Johnston, too. And, as always, I encourage you to join us for upcoming Chamber events. You’ll be glad you did.
