AHS Fall Play

Posted October 25, 2012 in Ankeny, Community Web Exclusives

The “typical” American high school play normally has teenaged actors trying to fit into an adult role.  And most times, those actors have no idea how to act – like adults.  However, Voices From The High School, Ankeny High School’s fall play production, changes all that. Author Peter Dee has brilliantly created vignettes reflecting the joys and troubles of growing up too quickly in America. The scenes are devastatingly honest, sometimes hilarious and always speak from and to the heart.  Judy Klemesrud, from the New York Times said, “In Voices From The High School, Peter Dee takes a realistic look at today’s teenagers, their problems, and their dreams.”  Production dates for this AHS Drama production are Thursday, November 1 and Saturday, November 3 at 7:30 pm, and Sunday, November 4 at 2:00 pm.  Tickets are $5 for adults, $4 for students, and will be available at the door.  For more information, please contact Mr. Cary Shapiro, AHS Drama Director, at cary.shapiro@ankenyschools.org
