Marlene Stull

July 8, 1935 – October 15, 2012

Marlene Stull, 77, died Monday, October 15, 2012, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. The family will greet friends from 4 – 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 18, at Iles Funeral Homes – Westover Chapel, in Des Moines, where a Prayer Service will begin 6 p.m. A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 20, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, 3220 Stone Park Blvd., in Sioux City, Iowa. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Sioux City.

Marlene was born in Sioux City, Iowa, to Lester and Gertrude Uhl. She graduated from Heelan Catholic High School. Marlene married Leigh Stull on April 8, 1961 and they made their home in Des Moines where they raised their family. She was a C.P.A. for several accounting firms around the Des Moines Area, including being a partner in a firm, and eventually retiring from The Planners. Marlene was very active in the Des Moines area Right To Life organization. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her immediate and extended family was her greatest joy.

Marlene is survived and lovingly remembered by her son, Jeffrey (Melissa) Stull; daughter, Julia (Chris) McAllister; five grandchildren, Brittany Stull, Heather Stull, Danielle Stull, Ryan McAllister and Shelby McAllister; two sisters, Luann (Robert) Bertrand and Ramona (Richard) Plendl; one brother, Patrick Uhl and her sisters-in-law, Agnes Cox and Lynn Uhl. She was preceded in death by her husband Leigh, her parents, her sister Norma Brown, two brothers, Ronald Uhl and David Uhl.

Memorial contributions may be made to either your local Right to Life Organization or the American Cancer Society.

Marlene’s family would like to thank Dr. Robert Shreck and his staff at the John Stoddard Cancer Center for their loving care of our Mother.
