West Des Moines, IA (September 19, 2012) – Hubbell Realty Company broke ground Tuesday, September 18 on the second phase of Meadowlark Place, an apartment community located at 1000 SE 11th Street in Grimes, Iowa.
Grimes Mayor Tom Armstrong, Grimes Chamber & Economic Development President Clint Dudley, Past President Steve Rogers and Economic Development Committee Member David Abram, and Grimes City Council Member Craig Patterson helped Hubbell Realty Company President and CEO Rick Tollakson and Vice President Development Kris Saddoris turn the ceremonial dirt to mark the occasion.
The projected $7.5 million development will add 84 affordable one, two and three bedroom apartments to the community. Phase I of Meadowlark Place, totaling 120 apartments, unveiled its first units this past June and will deliver its final building on October 1. Phase II is projected to be completed in spring 2013. Meadowlark Place features in-unit washers/dryers, designer appliances, patios, accent paint colors and spacious closets as well as state-of-the-art amenities including a clubhouse, fitness center, business center, media room, splash pad and detached garages.
“As Phase I of Meadowlark Place wraps up, we are excited to break ground and move right into Phase II construction,” stated Saddoris. “Leasing was well ahead of construction throughout Phase I, exemplifying the need for rental housing in the Grimes community. We have no doubt the same will hold true for the second phase and are proud to continue investing in Grimes.”
Meadowlark Place is being built by Hubbell Construction Services and is managed by Hubbell Property Management. For more information, visit www.hubbellapartments.com.
