Donna Mae Stiefvater

Donna Mae Stiefvater, age 76, of Boone and formerly of Columbus, Nebraska, entered into rest on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at her home in Boone.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, September 10, 2012 at the Verdel Presbyterian Church in Verdel, Nebraska, with Rev. Kelley L. Pedersen officiating.

Donna was born on September 10, 1935 in Verdel, Nebraska, the daughter of Frank and Agnes (Hansen) Stiefvater.

Donna attended school in Verdel, Nebraska and graduated from Verdel High School in 1952. She then attended Business College for two years in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Donna moved from Columbus, Nebraska to Boone in 2010. She worked for the Boone County Hospital as the Driver for Meals on Wheels.

She enjoyed collecting John Deere memorabilia, doing word search in magazines, computer games, sewing, and enjoyed listening to the music of Willie Nelson and watching the television show of Whispering Bill Anderson. Donna’s favorite flower was the red rose.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Frank Stiefvater; her sister and brother-in-law, Marguerite and Phillip Setright; her sister and brother-in-law, Geraldine and Phil McManigal; and her brother-in-law, Dick Hanzlik; her great granddaughter, Aspen Lea Harms; her son-in-law, Mike Maes and son-in-law, Dennis Norem.

Donna is survived by her daughter, Lori K. Bonin and husband Jeff of Iowa Falls, Iowa; her daughter, Frances M. Maes of Eldora, Iowa; her son, Henry “Mike” Michael Harms of Fort Collins, Colorado; her daughter, Kathy J. Harms and her fiancée Dennis Brannick of Boone, Iowa; her daughter, Tracy L. Harms of Boone, Iowa; her 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; her sister, LaVon Hanzlik of Verdel, Nebraska; her brother, Norman Stiefvater and wife Shirley of Cheyenne, Wyoming; her sister, Sharon Scholl of Denver, Colorado; her sister-in-law, Alice Stiefvater of Rawlins, Wyoming, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be directed to the family to be used at their discretion.
