For every 13.1 miles you complete Subway of Pleasant Hill will donate 6 inches of delicious sub sandwich. PHKRC begins this September 2012. We are focusing our efforts on boys and girls ages K-5 who desire a healthy, active lifestyle in a fun environment. The program is led by Coach Tim Ives, a 9-year personal training veteran and high school track coach. Sessions will normally begin and end at The Orange Planet Athletic Club in Pleasant Hill. Alternate routes may also include Copper Creek Lake, Subway and surrounding neighborhoods, bike trails, and
high school tracks.
Goal: To introduce kids to a sport they can truly participate in for a lifetime. Participants will see
how much fun exercise can be while challenging them to move past their comfort zones.
Program Details: fun games involving running, relays, head-to-head competition, obstacle
courses, team competition, calisthenics, sprint & endurance runs. The fall running program will be
an introduction to all things running, both sprints and long distance. We will introduce children to
proper technique and fun running games, drills and competition. We will also demonstrate how
running relates to other sports, such as basketball, football, soccer, etc. A post-season group run
around Copper Creek Lake will conclude our season. Fill out “specials registration” found on
the home page of The Orange Planet. Any resident of any town welcome.
