Cozy Townhome

Posted August 22, 2012 in Community Featured, Pleasant Hill

As a downsize option, Don and Sheryl Stanfel looked no further when they viewed this 2,000-square-foot, three-car garage townhome. At this stage in their lives, it fits their needs perfectly, and it’s been their home since 2009.

The curb-appeal is fantastic. The home is located right on the corner, and it’s hard to miss the gorgeous layout of the various kinds of hostas, daylilies and ornamental grasses. Andrews Drive is a beautiful street, and this front yard really is unique.

The large tree in the front is surrounded by rubber tire mulch and ornamental rocks. Their waterfall is a pleasing sight and just as calming as you walk up to the front door. Their deck is a peaceful place, also full of seasonal flowers. The backyard view is of the golf course.

Don and Sheryl Stanfel have created a beautifully landscaped yard at their townhome at 1900 Andrews Drive.

Don and Sheryl are retired, and they both love flowers. One would never guess that Don loves to choose the dead flowers from any store’s “do not sell” pile.

The design and décor inside is straight from a magazine. Sheryl’s taste is elegantly comfortable.  The cozy, plush chairs, the kitchen table and even Don’s recliner are all placed to enhance the open look and feel of the downstairs living space.

The kitchen is full of windows looking out front to that calming waterfall. The open staircase slightly curves alongside the kitchen.

The couple has six children, 17 grandchildren and lots of friends from out of state — all of whom come for overnight visits. The townhome’s four bedrooms and three bathrooms really come in handy. Their next family gathering is Labor Day weekend.

“It’ll be a fun house-full,” says Sheryl.

The adjoining townhome is placed next to theirs in a “T” design.

“We never hear our neighbors,” says Don. “We like that it’s built so well.”

However, what they like best of their townhouse is the location.

“Pleasant Hill is quiet, and we like that,” says Sheryl.
