Dixie Danielson, 84, passed away peacefully at the Madrid Home on Monday, December 19, 2016.
Dixie was a published author, having been recognized by the Iowa Poetry Association, as well as having had several of her poems in local newspapers. She was a kind, and generous person, devoted in her faith, and cared deeply for her family. She took in those in need: friends, family or pets. She was blessed with a wonderful sense of humor that she shared with others throughout her life.
Dixie married Virgil Danielson on May 6, 1950. The couple were lifelong residents of Madrid, where she was a homemaker and together raised their son, Virgil II.
Survivors include her sisters, Mary Yost and Carolee Bolt; brother George Kruse; grandson Dylan Danielson; granddaughter Dawn (Greg) Hockemeyer; great-grandchildren Raymond Danielson and Katelyn Hockemeyer; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Dixie was preceded in death by her parents Jerry and Caroline; her husband Virgil; sons William and Virgil II; daughter-in-law Coleen Danielson; brothers Dallas Morelock, Dave Bolt, Steve Kruse and Dick Bolt.
