A new (school) year in Christ

Posted September 02, 2015 in Adel, Community Featured

It’s gearing up to be an action-packed fall semester for those at New Hope Church in Adel. The school years means a lot of changes and updates for local parents, students and staff, but that doesn’t mean that worship, fellowship and praise have to fall to the wayside.

New Hope Church offers activities for students of all ages this fall.

New Hope Church caters to worshipers of all ages throughout the year, but as summer comes to a close there is an array of new selections, events, and fun fellowship activities to keep kids on track with God as they make the trek back to school.

The non-profit, non-denominational AWANA Club is back beginning Wednesdays this fall, available for children ages 4 through 5th grade. This is an opportunity for children to build confidence and grow in faith by way of three separate activities: lessons and studies, games and team-building activities and memorization of Bible verses. The AWANA Club meets on normally scheduled A-D-M school days from 6:30-8 p.m. with a suggested donation of $25 per student.

Students also have an extra opportunity to be involved by getting involved in both the middle school and high school youth groups. The middle school group kicks off with an informational meeting for both kids and parents Wednesday, September 9th from 6:30-8 the town’s old middle school. The following week, those meetings kick into full gear. Another special activity, Truck bed Ministry, begins during the school year as well. This is a meeting before school at the north parking lot of the A-D-M High School for students to gather for an early morning prayer and worship each Friday from 7:30-8 a.m.

Another new update to add as the school year kicks into full swing is an opportunity for kids and teenagers to have fun and hang out in a safe, spiritual environment. The church’s youth center expands its hours throughout the school year and is open every single Friday from 8-11 p.m. for both middle school and high school students to attend.
