Q: What should I eat at the fair?

Posted August 05, 2015 in Advice Column, Johnston

Did you know one meal that is has fried fats stays in your body and cells for 90 days or longer! Yuck! That means for 90 days or longer your body will be in MORE PAIN due to inflammation, promote arthritis and joint degeneration, and tells your hormones to function abnormally and stores MORE FAT!

The kind of fats, sugars, toxins or allergens we eat can cause inflammation. Eating healthy fats, avoiding sugars, toxins, and food allergens can drastically decrease pain due to inflammation.

This year if you plan on eating at the fair, plan ahead. Check the web site ahead of time to know where the healthy vendors are located and support them! Visit http://www.iowastatefair.org/fair-attractions/food/healthy-choices/. There are great choices from fruit kabobs, grilled meats, and ice cold water for those hot fair days. Feel better, lighter, and energetic instead of weighed down, sluggish and tired.

If you do indulge at the fair, you can HELP YOUR BODY by taking natural, effective anti-inflammatories such as (THIAA) and EPA/DHA fish oils. THIAA is a natural, food based supplement that has been studied to decrease inflammation and pain while being safe. Over the counter and prescription pain medications can harm the liver, stomach, kidneys, and cardiovascular system.

Eat to live, not live to eat and your body will thank you!
