Fireworks drive makes a bang

Posted May 06, 2015 in Community Featured, Perry

A big THANK YOU goes out to all of the people who contributed towards YOUR Firework Celebration. The Annual Fireworks Drive was another HUGE success. The community came together to raise almost $9000 in one day! All of the money goes to purchase fireworks for Perry’s firework show which will be on Saturday July 4th. The culmination of the day long Fourth of July Celebration will be our spectacular fireworks display! Thank you to all the people that donated pies, money and time! A special thank you to Raccoon Valley Radio for hosting the pie auction LIVE on KDLS! Also a huge thank you goes out to Tom Burkgren for doing an amazing job auctioning off all the pies! If you would like to donate please contact the Chamber! The more we raise the bigger the show!

Chamber Rolls Out Bike Month

The entire month of May has been proclaimed by Mayor Pattee as Bike Month in Perry. This is a month to promote not only biking to work but getting out your bike and using it for transportation in all different ways! Biking is an environmentally-sound form of transportation as well as an awesome way to get exercise and a great opportunity to explore our beautiful city. Make sure to utilize the great trails we have within our city limits as well as the Raccoon River Valley Trail that shows off the rest of our great county. The Chamber and many Chamber members will be hosting a number of great events throughout this month so grab a bike, grab a friend and help celebrate BIKE MONTH! Call the Chamber for more information at 465-4601.
