Urbandale, IA – April 23, 2015 – The City of Urbandale and Shred-it are giving area residents a chance to shred unwanted, confidential documents for free!
The free Community Shred-it™ event will be held Saturday, May 2, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Urbandale Senior Recreation Center parking lot, 7305 Aurora Ave.
Mobile shredding trucks will allow residents to bring important documents for secure, on-site destruction – up to 3 boxes or 90 lbs. of paperwork per household. The event is limited to individual households, business shredding is not available.
Shred-it is a global document destruction company that offers free Community Shred-it™ events to raise awareness and prevent consumer fraud and identity theft.
Boy Scouts from Urbandale Troop #3 will be providing volunteer labor for the event.
“We are excited to once again partner with Shred-it and Boy Scout Troop #3 to offer this free community service,” said Lorrie Nagel, Urbandale Senior Recreation Center Program Supervisor. “Helping prevent identity theft benefits residents and makes our community a safer place to live.”
