Spring into new life

The RESURRECTION of Jesus Christ provides new life and living hope to those who believe!

As Spring unfolds, the air warms, the robins return, the buds bloom, and the grass turns green. The signs of Spring are evident and renewing! In the same way, God’s Word provides good news regarding the new life and renewal that Jesus Christ came to deliver through his life, death, and resurrection!

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil, or fade – kept in heaven for you.” 1 PETER 1:3-4

Not sure where you are within the seasons of aging, but as the days unfold one reminder taps each of us on the shoulder… “Hey you, you’re not getting any younger.” Age signs, like season signs, become evident. People pay billions of dollars every year on anti-aging creams and lotions, and even face lifts and tucks, in order to look younger. But nothing can stop the inevitable decay of the human body. Fortunately, God knows everything about it. After all he created us, recognizing that our mortality and frailness would ultimately prove to be a blessing – in our reliance on him to redeem us!

God’s word promises: “When the perishable has clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: ‘Death has been swallowed up in victory.’ Where O death is your victory? Where O death is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He has given us the victory in our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 15:54-57.

Have you ever read the Bible cover to cover? Some have, many haven’t. Regardless, if you turn to the last Book of God’s Word, you’ll find REVELATION. In Revelation God reveals (3) incredible promises: 1. “I am the Alpha and the Omega,’ says the Lord God, ‘who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” (Rev. 1:8). 2. Jesus says, “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him and he with me.” (Rev. 3:20) and 3. “I am making everything new! Write this down for these words are trustworthy and true. It is done. I am the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life.” (Rev. 21:5-6)
