On May 5th, volunteers representing members of Grimes Chamber & Economic Development will once again be visiting our local schools, administrative offices and bus barns with coffee and cookies to show our appreciation for our local educators and staff.
Educators operate in the ultimate “pay it forward” field. Many times their teaching and good deeds do not get recognized until weeks, months or years have passed. This is our chance to say “Thank You” for all that you have done and will do for our community.
Educators provide the foundation on which we build our lives, dreams and desires. Because we have this foundation we are able to meet challenges, succeed or fail and then meet the next one based on what we’ve learned. Our education is a life long journey.
This month I encourage everyone to take a few minutes and reflect on their personal education experience. You can ask just about anyone who their 3rd Grade teacher was or if they remember their Junior High math teacher and you will probably get an answer after a bit of reflection; perhaps even a good story.
Educators are the unofficial idols of our community that travel with all of us on our journeys through life.
