It’s great getting involved in a church, but what about becoming apart of an involved church? If you’re new to Webster City, you might be surprised to find that there’s one congregation that never rests. Webster City Church of Christ boasts a wide range of weekly activities, but the power of Christ truly flourishes in their community work, fundraisers and ‘extracurricular’ activities.
Going Above and Beyond
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
– Matthew 28:19
Webster City Church of Christ is focused on bringing the word of God to others. The congregation supports a handful of missions that make the focus on creating disciples, helping others and providing light for those in need. The church regularly helps out with public outreach programs, including Iowa Falls’ Lighthouse Center of Hope. This open outreach provides counseling, pregnancy testing and other efforts to help those in need in northern Iowa.
Another major mission at Webster City Church is to win people of all ages to Christ, enabling them to grow strong in Christian faith. Along with several other Iowa churches, they provide funds for the Northeast Iowa Christian Service Camp. Not only do Webster City students get to attend, but the congregation raises money to help other kids be able to experience the camp as well. Just recently, the congregation hosted a soup bowl challenge involving 17 soups to raise money for the camp and attending students. But this tasty event is just an example of the community outreach Webster City Church of Christ strives for.
When church members aren’t looking for a way to give back to the state of Iowa, they’re probably getting together to send the love of God across the globe. Groups across the church have joined together for such charitable activities as packing lunches for the hungry in Africa and supporting mission trips and outreach programs in Sao Luis.
A Place to Grow
“Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.”
– 2 Peter 3:18
Like a new seed, everyone needs the opportunity and environment to grow into a strong plant. Whether you are ready to dive nose-deep into giving back and sharing or just want to get your feet wet, Webster City Church of Christ offers up their home as a place to grow in Christ.
