What:  2015 Arts Awards Celebration

Where: Octagon Center for the Arts, 427 Douglas Avenue, Ames, IA

When:  Sunday, April 19th, 1:30pm

FREE and Open to the Public

AMES, Iowa–The Ames Community Arts Council will host its annual Arts Awards Celebration on April 19 at 1:30pm. The public is invited to join the Arts Council in honoring those who have supported and encouraged the arts through their extraordinary actions and exemplary service to the Ames community.  Refreshments will be served. Music will be provided by the Klier Quartet and the Ames High School “Gig Crew.” The following awards will be given:

Hazel Hammer Cherished Volunteer: Jody Melcher

Bill Pelz Spirit Award: Mike & Myra Jackson

Distinguished Board Member: Jane Kennedy-Funk

Art in the Workplace: Sonya Stoltze-Newstrom

Local Treasure: Paul Hertz

Art Educator: Mark Stoltenberg

Veronika Ruedenberg Cultural Entrepreneur: Ames

Lifetime Achievement: Chuck Jones

Ames Community Arts Council Special Recognition: Heather Johnson
