Dianne Lynn Hoffmann, age 66, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Regency Park in Carroll.
Born on November 27, 1948 in Omaha, Nebraska, she was the daughter of Dale Walter and Jeanne (Littleton) Hoffmann. At the age of three Dianne suffered a brain injury due to the whooping cough. She lived with her family in Marshalltown and Denison before moving to New Hope Village in Carroll in 1976. Dianne was the force that drove her mother and father to create the “Association for Retarded Children” in Marshalltown, Iowa in 1957. Dianne enjoyed singing, puzzles, and stringing beads. Her favorite foods were coffee, ice cream, and chocolate candy of any variety. Dianne was forever smiling; guess you could say she never had a “rainy day” in her life.
Dianne is survived by her mother Jeanne Hoffmann of Ft. Dodge; a brother Mark Hoffmann of Ft. Dodge; an aunt Mary Hoffmann of Des Moines; and her New Hope Village Family. She was preceded in death by her father Dale Walter Hoffmann in 1997 and her grandparents.
A private family graveside service will be held at the Walnut Cemetery in Walnut, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for Dianne’s family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com
