
Albert G. Leonard, 97, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2015, at the Madrid Home.
The family will greet friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Madrid IA.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at the funeral home with burial to follow at the Union Cemetery, Polk City.
Albert was born on December 3, 1917, in Osage County, Canada, to George, and Hazel (Mitchell) Leonard. He lived most of his life in the Polk City, and Madrid area, retiring in 1980 from the Polk County Maintenance Department after 39 years. He was a past member of of Hopkins Grove United Methodist Church.
Albert is survived by his two sons Farrell Leonard, and Sheldon Leonard, sisters Violet Benson, and Bonnie Cordry, one brother Lyle Leonard, 16 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren and loved ones. He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Elva, and second wife Mary, three boys, and several brothers, and sisters.Lance (Patti) spent many hours caring for Albert and making sure he had all that he needed, and for that the family is grateful.
