Introduction to Tai Chi Program – February 19
Sally Swenson from Dallas County Hospital will be the guest presenter for a free adult program about Tai Chi at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 19, at the Carnegie Library Museum. We will learn about the art and execution of Tai Chi, watch demonstrations, and practice some beginning moves and positions along with the instructor. This is a great opportunity to find out more about this ancient discipline, which is both healthful and relaxing! Tai Chi is appropriate for all ability levels, and many moves may be done from a seated position. We will meet on the lower level of the Carnegie Library Museum (courtroom area). Please enter through the handicapped-accessible east side door. Get a jump on your spring shape-up plans, improve your mind-body connection, and bring some friends. Everyone is invited!
Take Your Child to the Library Event at Perry Library
Perry Library will participate in national Take Your Child to the Library Day, from 10:00-1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 21. This event was planned to promote greater use of the library by families with children and to encourage parents to get a library card for each child. Kids will enjoy balloon animals with magician Rick Eugene, face painting, a visit from a guest animal, and each will take home a free book. If you are not already using the library, come and see what you’ve been missing, and plan to build good reading habits with the whole family in 2015.
Please contact the Perry Public Library at 515-465-3569 if you have any questions.
