Food for Fines. We again will accept canned food to be donated to the food bank for payment of fines during February. For each nonperishable food item received, the donor will be credited with $1 toward fines owed on their account. “Food for Fines” applies only to fines accrued for the late return of library materials and credits will not be applied to charges for lost or damaged items. Items especially needed are peanut butter, canned meat (beef stew, etc.), and canned fruit and vegetables. Persons not owing fines are also encouraged to donate to the library’s food drive.
Reception for the New Director. The Friends will be holding an open house reception for new Library Director Jill Pannkuk. The event will be held on Tuesday, February 17 from 4-6 pm.
Please stop by and meet the new Director.
Dr. Seuss Birthday Party. The Friends are also sponsoring the ever popular “Dr. Seuss Birthday Party” family event on Monday, February 23. This is an open house event running from 5 – 7 p.m. The Cat in the Hat will be present for the first hour – bring along your camera to take your child’s picture with the Cat! Remember to wear your “Cat in the Hat” hat from previous years or plan to purchase one for $2. Please register for this event by calling the Youth Department at 357-0315.
