Suzann Nile Miller

Suzann was born December 30, 1939, to Arthur C. and Doris V. Nelson and raised in Ames, Iowa. After graduating high school she attended beauty school, then married the love of her life – Jerry Miller- May 30, 1959.

Suzann was a homemaker and raised their children in Waukee, then taught cross stitch and other crafts across the United States for many years. She and Jerry traveled, enjoying retirement and wintering in Texas each year. Suzann belonged to quilt groups in Iowa and Texas.

Suzann was preceded in death by her youngest son, James D. “Jim” Miller, and is survived by her loving husband, Jerry of Waukee, son, Jerry (Missy) Miller II of Des Moines; daughters, Joleen Vento of Waukee and Jana (Shane) Finch of Ocala, FL; seven grandchildren, one great-grandson, and a host of relatives and friends.

Suzann’s life was characterized by a deep love and devotion to her husband and family; integrity and giving her all in each endeavor; hope, strength and perseverance in difficult times; and an energy and love for life – one that was well-lived, and lived to the fullest.
