Gerald Winger, age 74, of 1631 Fifth Street, died at his home on January 21, 2015. He has been cremated.
A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, January 31, 2015, at 2 p.m. at the Boone Pioneer Citizens Center, 1112 Story Street.
Gerald Leroy Winger was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on July 7, 1940, the son of Max and Betty Winger.
Before moving to Boone, he was a self employed electrician in California and was a co-owner of Yreka Electric. While living in California, he also worked in reforestation and forest preservation.
Gerald enjoyed coin collecting, working with pinecones, refurbishing houses, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Gerald is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by five sons: Troy Winger of Oregon, Cory Winger of California, and Tom Winger, Toby Myers, and Josh Myers, all of Iowa; two daughters Vickie Winger and Roxanne Winger, both of Oregon; and 10 grandchildren.
Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall is in charge of arrangements.
