Can you believe it’s already 2015! How many times have you caught yourself writing 2014? I’ve been anticipating January 2015 for quite some time as this month marks the beginning of my year serving as your Ankeny Chamber President. Each January we wonder what the New Year will hold. I am excited about what the Ankeny Chamber has to offer our 862 and growing members and the entire Ankeny community this year.
The Ankeny Chamber had a strong 2014 with considerable growth under the Presidency of Kim Schaaf. I would like to thank Kim for her faithful leadership, her countless hours of service chairing Summerfest, and for the time she took to mentor me as I prepared for this new role. Because of a successful year through events such as Summerfest that the Chamber puts on, we were able to make donations to the Ankeny Miracle League & Ankeny Market Pavilion.
One of the three main goals of the Ankeny Chamber is to improve the quality of life not only for our chamber members, but for all Ankeny residents. I encourage all Ankeny citizens to participate in our many family friendly events this year, whether it be jogging in our 3rd Annual Chamber Chill run on March 7th, building a floating masterpiece for our Summerfest Cardboard Boat Regatta, or sampling the delicious food at Taste Ankeny Experience Ankeny this coming fall. I’ll be at each of those events with my husband and 3 kids!
I feel honored to serve our Chamber members this year. Please don’t hesitate to call or email me if I can help in any way.
