Applications are being accepted from low income homeowners until Jan 31, 2015 for our May 2015 projects. Repairs are done free of charge for the homeowner. Applicants must apply through our Des Moines office. The repairs will be completed on our 20th Annual Wells Fargo National Rebuilding Days on May 1st & 2nd 2015. Over 30 homes will be repaired on May 1st & 2nd with the help of over 700 community volunteers.
Examples of home repairs that are provided: repairing or replacing flooring, windows, steps, wheelchair ramps, stabilizing a shower, kitchen cabinet install, removal and install of back steps, landscaping and repainting of exterior and many more. These improvements will enable the homeowners and their families to live in a warm, safe and dry home.
“It is so important that we all come together to help our neighbors who are most in need,” said Kimberly Hansen, Executive Director of Rebuilding Together Greater Des Moines. “We are especially happy to be able to serve seniors, families and veterans as they are the heart and soul of our neighborhoods.”
The home must be owned by the applicant, can not be valued over $134,000, can not be a rental or contractual purchase home, the homeowner must be current on property taxes or property tax installment payment plan and the total family income must be within the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) guidelines:

Applications need to be postmarked by January 31, 2015 to be considered for the May 1 & 2nd workdays.
