Carol Lavonne Jahde, age 76, of Lake View and formerly of Carroll passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Regency Park in Carroll.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with Elder Terry Dillon officiating of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Fort Dodge Ward. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:00 A.M. on Thursday until the time of service. Burial will be in the Scranton Township Cemetery.
Born on September 26, 1938 in Carroll she was the daughter of Elmer Francis and Susie Velma (Kearns) Butler. She grew up in Carroll. She was married to Floyd Milton McCollum in 1953 and to this union was born a son David. The couple lived in the Scranton – Ralston area. Carol was divorced from Floyd and later married Roy William Jahde. They lived in Lytton and Lake View. Carol enjoyed watching birds, country music, fishing, hunting, and spending time with her family.
Carol is survived by a son David McCollum and his wife Jacqui of Ft. Dodge; a granddaughter Christina McCollum of Otho; four step-grandchildren: Angela Gibbs and her husband Ronald of Gowrie, Christina Brockelsby and her husband Joe of Sioux City, and Gennifer Quillen and her husband Dennis of Sioux City; three great grandchildren; twenty three step-great grandchildren; six step great great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, both of her spouses, two sisters: Jean Rabb and Rita McGinty, a brother William Butler, and a step-grandson Shawn P. Halbur.
