Norma Oliver, age 94, of Boone, died January 4, 2015, at the Boone County Hospital. No services will be held. Norma will be buried in the Countryside Memorial Gardens in Owensville, Missouri.
Norma Lee Oliver was born in Hannibal, Missouri, on April 23, 1920, the daughter of Carl and Jessie (Robbins) Schumm.
She graduated from Hannibal High School. Norma was a veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Navy as a storekeeper.
She later married John Oliver and the couple lived near Belle, Missouri.
Norma worked as a clerk for the Veterans Administration in St. Louis. She moved to Boone shortly after her husband’s death in 1975.
Norma is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother Cloyd Schumm, and three sisters Venita McAdams, Dorothy Moore, and Margaret O’Rourke.
She is survived by a stepson Gary Oliver of California, Missouri, and several nieces and nephews which include Anita Clayberg and husband Dan of Boone, Michael Moore and wife Linda and Larry Moore all of Ames.
Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall is in charge of the arrangements.
