Happy New Year Norwalk!

Posted January 07, 2015 in Community Featured, Email blast, Norwalk

2014 has been a year of Change for our community. We got a new Mayor, City council members and a new Police chief. We lost a special city council woman and other community members and we hosted the Home Show that brought in over 10,000 people!

We have seen an increase in construction all around to new houses, apartments and commercial buildings and I am hopeful that 2015 will be a bigger year for continued commercial growth!

The Norwalk Area Chamber of Commerce also has seen growth in its memberships. When I started here in July 2006, the membership was 94 members representing 65 businesses and 7 individuals.  We closed out the year of 2014 with 161 members representing 119 businesses and 8 individuals!  These members are not all located in Norwalk but either they have employees that live in Norwalk OR they do business in Norwalk and therefore they want to be a part of the Norwalk business community.

Are you like some of our members?  Were you once a Norwalk Chamber member? We would love to have you back!

Some businesses say they don’t have time to be involved with any of our chamber functions.  Being a chamber member can mean a lot of different things to different people. Some like attending the meetings.  Some like volunteering at the events or sponsor our events.  Some just want to support the Norwalk Area Chamber of Commerce and be recognized as a member and nothing else.  If you are interested in joining, please contact the chamber office at 981-0619 or norwalkchamber@msn.com.
