Non-profit organizations looking to fund projects that address significant issues and improve the quality of life for the residents of Dallas County, Iowa may now submit grant applications to the Dallas County Foundation (DCF). Applicants must be a 501 (c) 3, 5 or 6 organization or 107 (b) unit of government.
Dallas County Foundation an affiliate of Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines is pleased to announce that over $80,000 is available for countywide grant making. Interested parties may visit www.dallascountyfoundation.orgfor grant overview and instructions. Applications are due on Monday, April 13, 2015 by 5 p.m. Completed applications may be dropped off in person at Lincoln Savings Bank, 805 Main Street in Adel, Iowa or mailed to Dallas County Foundation, P.O. Box 46, Adel, Iowa.
Grants from $500 to $20,000 will be provided in the areas of health and human services; arts and culture; youth development; education; recreation; or the environment and community betterment.
Annually since 2006, DCF has awarded over $720,000 in grants to a total of 155 Dallas County organizations.
The Dallas County Foundation was established in 2005 to foster private giving, strengthen service providers and improve the conditions of the communities and rural areas of Dallas County. DCF is comprised of 15 members, three drawn from each quadrant of Dallas County, as well as three members at large. Board members include: Susan Brelsford, President, Cheryl Semerad, Vice-President; Linda Nelson, Secretary; Tim Canney, Treasurer; Paul Bissinger, Vicki Lage, Dan Spellman, Alice Wicker, Bill Siglin, Cathy Erickson, John Mortimer, Margaret Morrison and Jim Riordan.
