It’s that time of year again. You know what I’m talking about. New Year’s resolutions! The top ten New Year’s resolutions that people make are as follows according my very unscientific Google research:
- Spending more time with family and friends.
- Get fit!
- Lose some weight.
- Quit smoking.
- Enjoy life more.
- Quit drinking.
- Get out of debt.
- Learn something new.
- Help others.
- Get organized.
So now you know what the top ten resolutions that people make each year are. Now what? I have a suggestion! Stop in to the Bondurant Community Library and you will find lots of newly purchased books on each of these subjects.
Resolution number eight says “to learn something new.” Check out the new “Pizza Bible” book by Tony Gemignani, and forget about resolution number three (at least until you’re done eating pizza). Resolution number five says to enjoy life more, so I would suggest “Calming Your Angry Mind” by Jeffrey Brantley, MD, “Relief from Hot Flashes” by Gary Elkins, Phd, or “Hooch: Simplified Winemaking & Infusing at Home” by Scott Meyer. “Help your Baby to Sleep” by Judy Barratt might be another good choice for this particular resolution.
“Clean Eats” by Alejandro Junger, MD would be a great pick to tackle resolution number three, as would “Eat What you Love” by Marlene Koch. Throw in “Bike for Life” by Roy M. Wallack and Bill Katovsky and you’re on to resolution number two: getting fit!
“Living Language: Learning Chinese” CD’s would be a challenging choice to take on resolution number eight: learning something new. Or try “Middle School Math for Parents” by Scott Meltzer for a real brain challenge. Or not.
Stop in and find lots of amazing titles to take on your resolutions this year.
