Carolyn M. Hornback

Carolyn was born June 6, 1928 to Ren and Mary (Sanderson) Clark in Des Moines. She graduated from East High School in 1944. She attended Open Bible Church and later Church of God. Carolyn retired from Northwestern Bell in 1989 after 22 years. She enjoyed traveling throughout Europe and the United States and was proud that she planted the seed of travel in all of her children. She loved large family gatherings at her home, visits from her grandchildren, reading and garage sales.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; daughter, Susie; grandson, Patrick Hornback; daughter-in-law, Carina Hornback; sister, Dorothy; brother, Bud; and nephew, Johnny. She is survived by children: Mike Hornback of Sweden, Jackie (Harold) Kostka, Debra (Marty) Chapman, Karen (Doug) Harmsen and Tommy (Shirley) Hornback; 17 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; her two dogs, Dylan and Bob and her cat, Candlestick.
