JOHNSTON’S MAYOR TO RUN FOR FOOD ON NEW YEAR’S EVE

Posted December 29, 2014 in Community Web Exclusives, Johnston

Join us on Wednesday, December 31 for the Mayor’s New Year’s Eve Run for Food. For every sack of food donated to the Johnston Partnership, the Mayor will run one mile on New Year’s Eve. Donations are being collected now through December 31 at 3 pm at Johnston City Hall and the Johnston Public Library.

Everyone in the community is invited to donate food and participate in this free event!  Johnston City Hall is located at 6221 Merle Hay Road and the Johnston Public Library is located at 6700 Merle Hay Road.

Runners are also invited to meet Mayor Paula Dierenfeld and the Johnston Running Club at the Green Meadows West Gazebo at 5 pm on Wednesday, December 31. The Mayor will choose the route — with fun and merriment at the end!

“What better way to ring in the New Year – contributing to a good local cause by donating food to the Johnston Partnership Food Pantry and running with your neighbors and friends,” Mayor Dierenfeld said.  “Of course, we’ll have a little toast for health and happiness at the end.”

To set up an interview with Mayor Dierenfeld or to get photos/video of the event, please give me a call anytime.

Warm Regards and Happy New Year,
Emily Price
