Joseph L. Bailiff, 67, died at home in Lafayette, IN on December 9, 2014. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, December 20 at Iles Grandview Park Chapel with visitation starting at noon and family present after 1 p.m. Saturday. Private burial will be at Glendale Cemetery.
Joe was born in Indiana and lived most of his life in Des Moines. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked as a car mechanic and at Highland Potato Chip Company.
Joe is survived by his wife, Linda; his three children, Rhonda Wilson (Ty Thompson), Barry Bailiff and Bambi Bailiff (Thomas Kitchen); brother, Duane (Helen) Bailiff; four grandchildren; and great grandchildren; mother in law, Ernestine Anderson; Brothers and sisters-in-law, Darlene (Willie)Stewart, Gwen Berry, Diane (Deon) Cruse, Renee Anderson, Genevieve Turner, Latrice (Oliver) Watts, Rodney McGuire, Ricky (Tracey) Anderson, James Jr. Anderson; nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcus and Wilma Bailiff; wife, Georgia; two brothers, John and Dan; two grandchildren; and father-in-law, Rudy I. McGuire.
