My days as the President of the Ankeny Area Chamber of Commerce are winding down. Serving as the President is not a job a volunteer can do alone. Huge thanks to my Executive Board including Jen Walter, Doug Beech, Todd Wehr, Lydia Hornung and Kevin Harrington, and the rest of the Board of Directors who served in 2014. Also, my sincere thanks to the Chamber staff including Julie Cooper Todtz, Kris Oakie, Lindsay Weyer, Jessica Erickson, and Sharlyn Hulling for their dedication to the Chamber on a daily basis. Lastly, a big thank you to my family who has supported me every day through this amazing journey!
Now to look ahead … and looking ahead is easy to do thanks to the talented young woman who will be stepping in as your 2015 President. Jen Walter will bring honesty, compassion, and an amazing work ethic as she serves as your President. She and her husband are raising their family in Ankeny and run a small business, Walnut Street Gallery. She knows how important it is to be a member of the Chamber and the value it brings to her business. I have been fortunate to have her support and input throughout 2014.
What will 2015 bring you and your business? Do you have big plans related to your business? In November I spoke about the opportunity our members had to meet with professionals in Marketing, Human Resources, and Finance. Opportunities like this and many more are there for the taking for our members! Take a look at www.ankeny.org and learn more about how the Ankeny Area Chamber of Commerce can benefit your business. We may be able to help you meet your 2015 goals!
It has been a pleasure giving back to the community that has given so much to me and my family for many years. Happy Holidays and all the best for a wonderful 2015!
