The 2015 Iowa State High School Dance Team Competition was held Friday, December 5th.  The Iowa State Dance Team Competition is the largest state sponsored dance team competition in the country!  There are over 255 high school teams competing with over 555 routines.  The two day competition is divided between small and large schools.  The Dowling Catholic Dance Team competes in the large school divisions.

CONGRATULATIONS to the Dowling Catholic Dance Team for an incredible day at the 2015 Iowa State High School Dance Team Competition.  The Dowling Catholic Dance Team defended their 2013 and 2014 state titles and WON THE 2015 STATE Class III Lyrical division and took 1st place again!!  The Dance Team placed an amazing 2nd place in a very competitive Class VI Jazz division!!
In addition to taking 1st place in Lyrical and 2nd place in Jazz, the Dowling Catholic Dance Team received the high honor of the Sportsmanship Award!!  Every coach at state is given a ballot and the Dowling Catholic Dance Team received the most nominations from all the teams at state.  That says so much about our dance team girls and coaches.  Also, from all the routines performed at the competition on Friday only 3 judges’ choice awards given and the Dowling Catholic Dance Team received one of the three awards for their lyrical routine.  This is a very distinguished award.
