March 12, 1992 – August 15, 2014
Steven Michael Arens, 22, went home to God’s loving arms on August 15, 2014. Steven is coaching kids and playing baseball on heaven’s beautiful field with our Lord.
Steven was born in Des Moines, Iowa on March 12, 1992, the son of Dave and Marsha (Tangen) Arens and grew up in Windsor Heights. He graduated from Roosevelt High School and attended South Dakota State University. He coached baseball at Roosevelt and taught swimming at the Walnut Creek YMCA. Most recently, he worked for Quester and cared for family friend, Bob Lewis. Steven loved Hawkeye football, everything baseball and also enjoyed golf and music.
He was a loving and caring person, compassionate and always ready to help anyone. He loved our Lord. We will miss him deeply, but Steven now has the greatest joy and peace, and he delights in serving as coach for God’s major league.
Steven is survived by his parents, Marsha and Dave Arens; brother, Greg (friend Andrea Harlan); maternal grandparents, Bob and June Tangen; aunt, Melissa Tangen; uncles, Mike Tangen, Tom Arens and Paul (Erika) Arens; cousins, Elizabeth and Hayden Arens; and family dog, KoKo.
