Larry Dean Stoelk, age 66, of Lake View, IA, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Loring Hospital in Sac City, IA.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at the United Methodist Church in Lake View with Rev. Dave Schumann officiating. Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll from 5 – 7 P.M. on Friday. The casket will be moved to the church at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday where visitation will resume until the time of service. Organist for the service will be Marilyn Hundling and vocalists will be Ryan Kotz. Casket bearers will be Laura Rugaard, Ryan Miller, Kurt Miller, Randy Stoelk, Troy Stoelk, and Aaron Schwanz. Burial will be in the Westside Cemetery.
Born on September 1, 1947 in Carroll, IA, he was the son of Lawrence and Margarette (Kies) Stoelk. He was baptized at Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at Zion Lutheran Church in Arcadia. He grew up in the Arcadia – Westside area and graduated from Ar-We-Va High School in 1966. Larry farmed with his father and several Lake View area farmers over the years retiring in 2010. He enjoyed going to coffee at Kathy’s Korner in Lake View and socializing with his many friends. He liked tractor rides and tractor shows, watching westerns, and spending time with his grandchildren and family.
Larry is survived by a daughter Heather Stoelk and her husband Mike Niver of Des Moines, IA; a son Marty Stoelk and his wife Jill of Norwalk, Iowa; two grandchildren: Lauren and Brady Stoelk; a step-daughter Robyn Cromwell and her husband Paul of Wall Lake, IA; six step-grandchildren: Christina, Stephanie, Elizabeth, Samantha, and Alexander Cromwell and Mitch Fryslie; three sisters: Carol Rae Miller and her husband Ewing of Clinton, IA, Carletta Brown of Lake View, IA, and Carman Schwanz and her husband Eugene of Wall Lake, IA; a brother Mark Stoelk and his wife Jolene of Westside, IA; a sister-in-law Carol Lynn Stoelk of Carroll, IA; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins.
